Artist Profile: Aparna Biswas

Aparna Biswas is a dedicated and passionate visual artist who has actively participated in numerous group exhibitions held in Kolkata and Dibrugarh, showcasing her distinct creative voice and refined technique. Her works have drawn attention and critical appreciation, notably earning her a review in “Desh”, the esteemed Bengali literary magazine published by ABP (Ananda Bazar Patrika) — a testament to her growing recognition in the art community.

Her journey in fine art began at “Art Wing” School, Dibrugarh, where she trained under the able mentorship of Sri Sanat Baruah. This foundational phase nurtured her skills and artistic sensitivity. She later advanced her training under the revered Late Kanti Chowdhury at Nabagram, Konnagar, Hooghly, where her approach matured, and her creative language deepened.

Currently, Aparna Biswas continues to pursue her art practice from her home studio in Garia, Kolkata, engaging with watercolors and mixed media, often drawing inspiration from natural forms and classical techniques.
